April Mission Update: New Partnerships, Viral Growth, and Service Dog Progress

April was a pivotal month for Honorguard Coffee as we continue our mission to support veterans through high-impact programs like service dog training and mental health support.

From unexpected social media growth to major steps forward in our service dog training framework, we’re excited to share the progress our coffee community made possible this past month.

🚀 Going Viral on TikTok Helped Expand Our Mission

This month, one of our TikTok videos gained surprising traction, bringing thousands of new eyes to our mission. While our focus remains on healing the veteran community through coffee-driven impact, this moment of viral reach opened the door to valuable connections.

Among them: a new partnership conversation with a professional service dog trainer, and outreach from other mission-aligned organizations who recognize the growing impact Honorguard Coffee is having.

🐕 Service Dog Training Framework Acquired

The biggest development in April? Honorguard Coffee officially acquired a train-the-trainer service dog education program designed to empower veterans directly.

Rather than relying on external service dog providers with long waitlists, our model is built for remote learning, allowing veterans to train their own service dogs from anywhere in the country.

This structure isn’t a short-term solution it's a lifelong skill. We’re focused on empowering veterans to become independent handlers, restoring confidence and building a deeper bond with their service animals.

We anticipate launching the full program within 90 days, with capacity for our first veteran and dog team in training as early as next month, pending funding.

☕️ Coffee Subscriptions Are Fueling the Mission

We are proud to share that we now have 17 active monthly coffee subscriptions. Our goal is 1000 which will fully fund 10 service dog teams per year.

Every new subscription puts us one step closer to transforming a veteran’s life through the gift of a trained service animal. With just 83 more subscribers, we’ll be able to onboard our first veteran handler into the program.

🐾 April Donations: $144 Raised for Veteran and MWD Support

Thanks to coffee lovers who care, $144 was raised and donated in April, bringing our year-to-date impact to over $500.

Breakdown:

  • $44 went to Paws of Honor, a nonprofit supporting retired military working dogs with medical expenses and retirement care. This donation was made through sales of our Chief Hutch roast — a Honduras single-origin with notes of citrus, dark chocolate, and roasted almonds. 50% of profits from every bag of Chief Hutch are donated.

  • $100 was donated to The Overwatch Collective, a nonprofit working on the frontlines of the veteran mental health crisis. Their team, many still actively serving, helps connect veterans to mental health providers with discretion and care.

💬 What Comes Next?

Our community is growing, and so is our impact. We’re always looking for feedback from the people who make this mission possible — if there’s something you’d like to see Honorguard Coffee do next, reach out and let us know.

📦 Help Fund a Service Dog — One Bag at a Time

If you're not already a subscriber, know this: one bag of coffee per month could be your 1% of the reason a veteran receives a service dog. It’s more than coffee — it’s a cause worth believing in.

Join the mission. Drink coffee with purpose.
