July Mission Report: 230 Lives Touched

July was one for the books.

Before we get into the stories, let’s talk about what really matters, impact. For the first time, we were able to get a clear read on the actual lives changed through this mission. Not just the dollars raised, but the direct effect on the people we exist to serve.

Here’s what we saw:

  • 16 suicides prevented

  • 114 veterans and active duty provided with daily peer-to-peer support

  • Over 100 veterans engaged in agricultural and community programs

That’s 230 veterans’ lives positively impacted because you chose Honorguard Coffee, poured yourself a cup, and stood with us.

No matter how you look at it, that is huge. I’m proud of what we’re accomplishing together. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

From Costa Rica, With Connection

July also took me south to Costa Rica, where I visited a farm owned by the Vital Roots Foundation. This isn’t just a farm, it’s a vision.

The land is being built out as a gathering place for veterans. A place to heal. A place to reconnect not just with each other, but with the earth itself. I’ve experienced firsthand how powerful that connection can be.

And here’s the part that makes my coffee-nerd heart beat a little faster: one day, this same farm will produce coffee we’ll roast and sell to help fund it. Full-circle impact. From the soil, to the cup, to the lives it changes. I can’t wait for that day to come.

You’ve Been Asking: Here’s How to Help More

A lot of you have asked how you can support the mission beyond buying coffee. First off, I love that question. Second, here are some ways that would make a real difference:

  1. Post your coffee pics. Snap a photo of your favorite Honorguard brew and tell people why you love it. John and I aren’t exactly social media influencers, so your posts help more than you know.

  2. Join the affiliate program. If you’re serious about sharing on social, we’ve got a program that lets you spread the mission and earn a little cash while you’re at it.

  3. Forward this update. Sharing our actual impact numbers gets more people behind the mission.

  4. Follow us on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Engagement drives reach. Reach drives change.

  5. Bring Honorguard to the office. We have an office coffee program, reply to this post or reach out and we’ll make it happen.

July was a reminder that this mission is working. That lives are changing. That every bag you buy is more than just a coffee order it’s a ripple of hope sent out into the world.

I’m looking forward to the months ahead, to seeing this farm in Costa Rica grow, and to watching this community continue to make a difference together.

Here’s to the next cup, and the next life touched.

Respectfully,
Steven Ferguson
