In the cup
A proper Earl Grey: Ceylon black tea, blue cornflower and a measured hand with the bergamot, so the orange reads as fruit, not perfume. Good alone; takes milk and sugar if that's how you were raised.
In the cup
Black tea, medium caffeine. Orange, floral, malt. Brisk and well-structured, with a medium body and a little sweetness. The bergamot is there to support the tea, not cover it.
How to brew it
Use 2.5 g of leaf for 12 oz of water at 195°F. Steep 5 to 10 minutes. Five gives you a lighter cup; ten gives you one that stands up to milk.
